I've seen a lot of takes on the modernization of C1 Corvettes and to be honest, I don't like them too much. To me, I'd rather see a full blown resto done to an original car rather than messing with the original form. This is not to say that some of the modded cars aren't nice looking, it's just a shame to mess with an original.
So this puts me in a mental quandary...if I were to modify a C1, what would I do? Well, I could always start with something that *looks* like a C1 and hack it apart in a worry free fashion. If this sounds like something you'd want to do as well, you might want to check out a website I found the other day called Vintage Vette Street Rides. What they do is produce bodies that look like the '58 but ride on a modern chassis with parts from a C4 or in some cases a C5. So now, the sadist in me can have a road race inspired '58 with a turbo'd LSx without hacking up an original. I'll keep playing the lottery, don't worry.~Craig
