You've probably figured out that Corvette Fever is not a magazine about polishing the fenders on your trailer queen. Corvette Fever readers enjoy their Corvettes as the world-class sports cars they were designed to be.Reported by Tom Shaw
Proving the point are all three CF cover cars from the November ’07 issue, all stars, all handbuilt, very rare and valuable Motion Corvettes, stretching their highly-powered legs at the Gateway International's dragstrip. Rayburn Pennington pilots the red/black '73 Manta Ray, Dan Hayes is in the yellow/black '72 Motion Moray, and Jamie Jarvis is driving the red/white '68 427 car. They were all part of the Supercar Reunion (info at www.yenko.net), an annual gathering of top-tier supercars in St. Louis. Saturday's indoor show is a blast, but we especially like the day at the track on Friday. Here's one show that does more than talk about going fast. Lesser men would shrink from the notion of having this kind of fun with a supercar Corvette. Watch 'em run these mega-motored beasts and full throttle and you know they've got a serious case of Corvette Fever.
What do you think about these guys thrashing this high-dollar hardware? Would you?
