Split Personality C2 brings home a TON of Bacon

Recently, the Split Personality C2, whose build has been documented right here in CF and built by our good friends Rich and Barb Lagasse was entered in the 2008 Detroit Autorama this year in hopes of competing for the Ridler Award.

Rich shares “The trip out was tough weather-wise as we ran into the mid-Western snow and ice storms but the trip home was much more pleasant. Indoors shows are sure a lot of work to set up and take down the display but several friends flew out to help along with our two sons and we really enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime experience. The last four months have taken eighteen hours a day and seven days a week to get the car done in time. The last three days before we left were literally around the clock and we loaded the car in the trailer at six in the morning, went to bed for three hours and left for Detroit at nine. Nice to see that we can keep that pace at our age but never again!

Rich continues “We knew what we were up against at that level of competition but we were in the Ridler competition until the final cuts were made and glad we made the effort. The ‘63 did receive a First in Class, the Best in Show cup, an Outstanding Paint award and the overall Outstanding Sports car award so we're pleased with the recognition and especially all the nice folks we met. Attached are a few shots of the car, display and the Split Personality crew. Now we'll have a bit of time to decompress and finish the things we didn't have a chance to do before we left. We need a looong rest after all this!”

Stay tuned as we document the rest of this incredible car’s build over the next few months.
