FixvetDennis FixsenEl Cajon, CA’98 Corvette coupe
It would be an honor to see my Torch Red coupe in the Readers Rides section of your great magazine. I bought it in 2004 with only 19K miles on it. I love road trips, and it now has over 57,900 miles on it as of the 10-year anniversary of its build date of 11-3-97. The car is basically stock with F45 suspension, Z06 cat-back exhausts, a high flow air intake on the LS1 engine, and “Fixvet” plates. I get tons of compliments on its mint condition, and I love driving it from San Diego to Kansas City every couple of years to see my two sons. Road trips in my C5 are the best, even by myself! 30 mpg in a C5 doesn't get much better! I belong to a unique group of Vette and Cobra owners called "Mission Valley Corvettes & Cobras". We have a spirited monthly mountain run.

George SipprellBranford, Connecticut’04 Corvette convertibleMy first Corvette is a Magnetic Red Metallic II Convertible that is my daily driver. It’s already seen much of America. One major journey took me almost three months and 12,000 miles, mostly with the top down, from the beautiful sunsets of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the 115 degree heat of the Southwest, to the wildfires of L.A., and snow in Colorado and Wyoming. I've attached a picture taken on the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado. On my journey, I finished the quest of finding every piece of left of Route 66. It’s the people I meet along the road that make my travels an adventure, and the car is a "magnet" everywhere I go.Being a daily driver, I say to your readers that I’ll probably see you on the road.
Street LegendBrian SkeltonSouth New Jersey’67 Sting Ray CoupeHere is my 1967 Corvette coupe, known as the “Bounty Hunter.” The valve covers were signed by Zora Arkus-Duntov at the opening of the National Corvette Museum, along with Larry Shinoda, Dave Hill, Tom Hill, Geb Hofstettler, Jim Perkins, and other Corvette legends. Since there has been some swirling of the name "Bounty Hunter" and the one that was seen at Carlisle was not the real one, I thought it might be appropriate to give the readers a look at the real race car from the streets of New York and New Jersey in ’67, ‘68 and ‘69.I have all the history on the car, details and pictures in a 3-inch-thick binder for review.I’ve been an avid Corvette enthusiast since 1983, when I purchased my first Corvette, a white ‘79 coupe. Since then, I have acquired several more Corvettes, including a number of Top Flight, Gold Spinner and Bloomington Gold winners.
