No two Corvettes are exactly alike--and this pair of reader's rides proves it.
San Jacinto RedPete RosadoSan Jacinto, CA1995 Corvette CoupeHere is my ‘95 Corvette Coupe (Automatic). This is my second Corvette. Since I was seven years old, I dreamed of owing a Vette, and it finally became a reality in 1997.
This Corvette I bought it in October 2004, and it has a few small modifications: a set of Hooker “Shorty” Headers; a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system; MSD’s Opti-Spark ignition, Blaster coil and conductors; Vortex Ram Air induction and a brake bias spring, The ECM was reprogrammed, and this car also has C5 Z06 front disc brakes and C6 Z06 wheels.
I performed all the labor on it except for the mufflers/cat-back installation.
Semper Fidelis!
RedRodRichard SmithSulphur, Louisiana’66 Corvette Sting Ray (clone)I planned this in my mind for many years before building it in 2005. The plan was to build a car that would look like a Corvette with about half the weight, fitting within SCCA rules for an E/Modified autocross car.I picked the parts to build a Corvette clone body from Vanacor’s Corvette Parts, and they made them with only two layers of fiberglass. I glued them together into a one-piece body that sits on the chassis and is held on with four bolts. I painted it in Corvette ‘Torch Red’ with four coats of clear. The interior is fabricated from sheet aluminum. Race ready weight is 1712 pounds.
Driving it is a dream. This car has plenty of power, it starts every time and runs smooth as silk. With some shifter adjustments and brake balance tuning, it has proven to be a very fast—and winning--competitor.
