You asked...and here are some more Vettes that we've featured in "Your Ride In The Spotlight" in the pages of Corvette Fever.
That includes one club and their "fiberglass fantastics."
Virginia Is For (Vette) LoversVirginia Corvette ClubLynchburg, Virginia
The Virginia Corvette Club celebrated their 25th Anniversary in October, 2008. The club was started with a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway 25 years ago, with 22 Corvettes. The club now has 60 members, with Corvettes from 1954 to 2008. The club enjoys local cruise-ins, participating in events held by other Corvette Clubs, going to Corvettes at Carlisle, and--of course--riding and having cookouts on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. This anniversary picture was taken at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. We honor and appreciate all of the veterans across this great land. We urge everyone to stop at the D-Day Memorial if you are traveling through central Virginia, as it is located right off Route 460 between Lynchburg and Roanoke. We are still waving after all these years!
“Rare Original” Revisited
Greg BarnettDebary, Florida 1980 Corvette (4-speed)
In the August, 1994 Corvette Fever, the feature article “Rare Original” highlighted an extremely well-preserved 1980 (Code 52 Yellow) Vette with a black leather interior and a four-speed transmission. At the time, it had only 15,700 miles on it.I recently purchased it, in the same condition as it was when the CF article appeared, with only 2,000 more miles on it than when the article was written. The introduction of the 1980 Corvette came in a much-recognized magazine ad. From then on, I knew if I were to ever buy a Corvette, it would have to be a yellow 1980. When I found this car online, I knew it was the one. It had everything I wanted: The year, the color, and a four-speed. On May 29, 2008, I had it delivered to my home in Florida, and it is everything I expected it to be and more.
