The public is getting its closest look yet at the GT1 edition at the New York Auto Show that's now underway.If you didn't make it to Sebring or to the Apple, here's the skinny :
GT1 Championship Edition to be produced in Corvette coupe, convertible and Z06 models in spring 2009:
Available in 45U Velocity Yellow (with black headlamps) or 41U BlackSpecific VIN sequences: 300001 series for 45U Velocity Yellow represents the #3 Corvette C6.R, while the specific VIN sequence 400001 series for 41U Black represents the #4 Corvette C6.RProduction limited to 100 per each color and body style combination (600 total)Coupe and convertible versions also include the Z51 Performance Package and NPP Performance ExhaustOptional MX0 6-speed paddle shift automatic on coupe and convertibleOptional C2L dual roof package on coupeOptional U3U Navigation System on all models
How about those C6.R-inspired graphics--featuring Corvette Racing's "Jake" mascot, ALMS Championships & driver flags--that are included with the GT1 Championship Edition? Read on:

Custom leather-wrapped ebony interior with exclusive yellow accent stitching
GT1 embroidery on leather seats, instrument panel, and center console armrest
Special engine cover with carbon pattern and yellow Corvette lettering, plus a special windshield banner (Not factory or dealer-installed...it's your choice to install it or not)
Now, why would the Corvette Team come up with something like this? We figure they had around 90 reasons, including:
-Eight American Le Mans Series GT1 manufacturers and team championships
-Five 24 Hours of Le Mans class champions; and
-74 victories in international sports car competition
