The First Corvette of the Sixties, Serial No. 0001

It began with the Cold War and ended with anti-war protests; saw the rise of the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the fleeting promise of a new Camelot. John Glenn paved the way for Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon. Maris surpassed the Babe. President Kennedy inspired the nation, and his death transformed it. The Beatles led the British Invasion while Dr. King led the march for civil rights. It was the sexual revolution, the Great Society, the Vietnam War; the rise of the counterculture, the Summer of Love; Woodstock and Helter Skelter.

It was the Sixties, the most tumultuous decade perhaps in the history of mankind, and this 1960 Corvette, the first Corvette of the Sixties, Serial # 0001, saw it all unfold. The lineage certainly started off in high style: fittingly finished in the timeless combination of Ermine White with a White top and Red interior, the car is also equipped with the best powertrain available, the fuel-injected 290-horsepower 283 V-8 with a 4-speed manual transmission. Other options include the signal-seeking AM radio and wide whitewall tires that add an extra touch of elegance to the classic color scheme.
