This distinctive Corvette convertible is one of only 67 1989 Corvettes to receive the Callaway Twin Turbo conversion then available through select Chevrolet dealers as RPO B2K. Its handsome Dark Blue Metallic finish is well complimented by a contrasting Saddle interior, and with only 3,300 miles on the odometer, it is astoundingly original, one of the finest examples in existence.

Priced at $25,895, the Callaway conversion gave the car twin intercooled turbochargers and other performance modifications, including distinctive Dymag wheels and speed-rated tires. A very few, like this fine-looking convertible, also received special Aero body packages that comprised smoother front bodywork with four special intake openings, and a unique rear valence embossed with Callaway identification. The overall effect visually distinguished the Callaway Corvette and reduced drag for higher top speed. These changes endowed the car not only with 382 horsepower but also a huge increase in torque to 562 ft. lb., resulting in astonishing acceleration and a top speed of over 180 mph.

The example offered here is equipped with an automatic transmission, air conditioning and leather seats, eschewing any number of options that would have added weight or otherwise detracted from the car’s road-gobbling performance.

A one-owner car with a well documented history, it has been in careful storage since it was delivered new and remains practically showroom-fresh.
