The Vettes Shone That Day In Pretty Red Wing

After Back to the '50s in St. Paul, it was time for a show closer to (Mom's) home...the annual Fathers' Day show that the Phantoms Car Club of Red Wing puts on, in the heart of downtown Red Wing (located about an hour southeast of the Twin Cities along the Mississippi River).

Before the rains came, the Phantoms' annual fathers' Day show filled downtown Red Wing.

Unlike Back to the '50s, there was no year cut-off for the Phantoms show....which meant that a lot of neat '65-later rides were on hand.

Vettes in the heart of Red WIng, with Clarence DeMers' '06 parked next to Mike and Karen Fetting's yellow '77.

At the corner of Third and Bush Streets, in the heart of Red Wing's downtown, was this 3-some of Corvettes. In the foreground is Clarence DeMers' 2006 Corvette, from Red Wing. Also from Red Wing is the yellow '77 shark of Mike and Karen Fettig.

Arlene and Jerry Roth's 427-powered '69 shark is ready to send the flower baskets a-shakin'

At the end of the row was Arlene and Jerry Roth's 427-powered '69 Stingray, also from Red Wing.

The Phantoms had a "Make & Take" table for kids to build their own Corvettes (the yellow models).

About a block away, in front of the historic T.B. Sheldon Auditorium, the Phantoms had a "Make & Take" table where kids could build their first Corvette (in scale), and not get covered with fiberglass dust in the process!

Two more Vettes in Red Wing...then the rains came!

Just as I was getting the picture of these two, the clouds opened up and poured rain all over the show field, Red Wing, and much of southeastern Minnesota, ending the show a couple hours early. But not before a lot of neat show rides and daily-drivables had graced downtown Red Wing, as they do every Fathers' Day.
