Initial Corvette Club Olympics Games at Mid America Motorworks

The first-ever Corvette Club Olympics Games were held last Saturday (July 25) on the Mid America Motorworks' Effingham, Illinois  campus.


 

"Cover the Corvette"...this time, it was for fun at Mid America Motorworks' first-ever Corvette Club Olympics Games.

Over 60 Corvette enthusiasts attended and participated in the six-event competition consisting of: Creeper Races, Name the Year of the Emblem, Hat Toss, Cover the Corvette, What Brush Am I? and MWorks Match .  



Highland, Illinois' Looking Glass Corvette Club...winners of the first-ever Corvette Club Olympics Games at Mid America Motorworks.

The five participating teams represented three Corvette clubs from across the state of Illinois.  The Gold Medal winner of the 2009 Corvette Club Olympics was “The Trunk Poppers” from the Looking Glass Corvette Club located in Highland, IL.  Darrell “Pokie” Wildhaber, captain from the winning team, stated, “We will be back next year to defend our title!”

Winners received a traveling trophy, plus they'll their photo published in the Corvette Funfest Book, they'll get free registration for 2010, and bragging rights!  Lunch was served after the completion of the events.
