Whither the "Route 66" Corvettes?

1960-64 Corvettes, TV stars in their own right

I apologize if I sound like a broken record....but does anyone know what became of the Corvettes used in the production of the "Route 66" TV show from 1960-64?

Here's one clue: This is one of the '61s they used. (Notice that it isn't red.)

From what I've heard and read, there were at least two that they hauled around the country while "Route 66" was filmed entirely on location...primary and back-up cars, identically optioned and equipped.

But, so far there's been no word on what became of them when they were done with them. Were they sent back to GM or Chevrolet Division HQ? Or were they dropped off at a Chevy dealer in the town where they filmed that season's last episode, to be sold off to their "best" Corvette customers?

Or....?

If they were dropped off, it's possible that the '64s used in the final season aren't too far from here, as the last two-part episode of the show's fourth (and last) season was filmed here in Tampa.

If anyone knows anything, could you please e-mail me?  Thanks!

Thanks!
