Sometimes it is not enough to describe a Corvette in the context of its value as a collector car, for there are a special few models that serve as milestones in the lineage and therefore also qualify as historical artifacts. The 1963 Z06 coupe offered here is certainly of that rarified standing: its list of options makes it the only one of its kind ever built, and its expert restoration has earned it the highest Bloomington Gold and NCRS accolades.
Originally purchased new at Ernie Porter Chevrolet in Pasadena, California, this is an original Z06 powered by Chevrolet’s race-tuned 360-horse 327, with Rochester fuel injection, special high-lift, high-duration cam, a Muncie M20 transmission, Positraction, and special suspension and brakes. In addition, it is equipped with the exceedingly rare 36.5-gallon fuel tank that almost without exception was exclusive to the Z06. And what an aesthetic pleasure: finished in Ermine White, it has a very rare Saddle-colored interior, even more unusual because it also features optional leather seats. Most of the 22 miles this marvelous and immaculate Corvette Z06 has traveled since its restoration must have accumulated on the way to the trophy stand, because in 2007 it won no fewer than five Bloomington Gold and NCRS awards!
