The last of the all-chrome-bumper Corvettes, the 1972 Stingray was also the last model powered by Chevrolet’s fantastic solid-lifter LT-1 small block. Few were built; of total Corvette production of 27,000, only 1,741 were LT-1 equipped, and of those few, today only a small elite group shares this car’s stature as a multiple Bloomington Gold winner. Original and unrestored, this 1972 LT-1 convertible is a completely unique specimen that has earned Certified, Survivor and Benchmark laurels.

A true driver’s Corvette that was delivered without power assists for steering or brakes, the car retains its original and rare Sunflower Yellow paint, matching Yellow hardtop and Black interior, all of which are in exceptional condition and, on the whole, make for an especially attractive example. The high-winding 350 engine and Muncie four-speed at the core of this car’s tremendous collector value are reference-grade, all matching-numbers and correct date codes. This amazing, well-documented Survivor LT-1 convertible will please the most critical collector.

Highlights:

- Sunflower Yellow with Black interior
- 350/255 HP LT1 engine
- 4-speed transmission
- Original and unrestored
- Bloomington Gold Certified

Presented as Lot S72 (click here for details), this Corvette is scheduled to cross the block at approximately 2:05 PM Eastern on Saturday, June 27 - in front of a live national TV audience on HD Theater, Discovery Communication’s premier high-definition network.
