Test your knowledge of Corvette racing history by feasting your eyes on this beauty.

It's 1963's "Gulf One"....and September's Corvette Fever has its story...and a lot more!

Early in calendar 1963, 14 early-production Corvette Sting Ray coupes with the RPO Z06 option package were assigned to the top road racers around the country.

THis '63 Z06 "tanker" was the most successful of the 14 "assigned" early-production '63 Z06s.

This one went to Gulf Oil's Grady Davis, who had Dr. Dick Thompson drive it--just as he had him drive the '62 that cleaned up in SCCA A/Production racing the year before.

September's Corvette Fever has more on Gulf One, including a chat with Dr. Dick Thompson himself about this car, and what it was like to race it way back when.

It's now on the stands...or you can get Corvette Fever headed to your mailbox by subscribing at one of the links on this web page.
