Now that aftermarket big-bore LS blocks are out that cost a fraction of what GM Racing’s C5-R road race blocks cost, Lunati’s come up with crankshafts for them--new forged steel stroker LS cranksthat they’ve added to their Pro Series line.
Made from premium 4340 steel forgings capable of handling 1,000+horsepower, they feature micro-polished and lightened connecting rod journals, gun-drilled mains to reduce rotating mass, special counterweight profiles that shed oil and reduce windage, and Lunati’s exclusive finite detailing, profiling, and nitriding processes. Lunati offers long-stroke LS cranks in eleven off-the-shelf versions, with stroke lengths up to 4.625 inches, in stock and ready to ship. They also offer “long snout” versions for their 4.5- and 4.6-inch LS crankshafts, as well as custom-stroke crankshafts and strokers with a pin size of 2.200-inch (big-block size).
